I don’t know if you’ve ever watched it, but Trading Spaces, the show that claims to have started the whole TV Interior Project Design craze is back on TV now. It is just one of many Design/DIY shows that somewhat distorts what happens in reality, kind of like a movie montage breezes over the hard work that achieves a magical transformation. In Trading Spaces, a room is completely redone with an impractically low budget utilizing cans of spray paint and MDF. This folks, is not reality, though it is good fun. Good design solves a problem using thoughtful, educated planning along with quality products and skilled labor to achieve a solution. Of course everyone loves a happy ending neatly tied with a bow and presented in just an hour, but it might be doing a slight disservice to those of us working in the field who know what goes into a project that encompasses just one room, done well.
With that in mind, we’ve launched our blog to share some tips and tricks, inspiring design and some of the behind the scenes of our projects. Oh and maybe a recipe or two! And if you have a project we can assist with from the planning to the project management and the design, please reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you!
